Pilates classes in Long Melford
Unfortunately our Pilates classes in Long Melford will no longer be running from end October 2019.
There are classes in Clare with Fiona Palmer only 10 – 15 minutes away.
Fiona runs classes both mornings and evenings plus and a new Fitball class suitable for all levels.
Fiona is one of the founders of Pilates East Anglia and has been teaching for over 17 years.
Fiona is also a certified Anatomy Trains teacher.
“I think I teach therapeutic movement sessions! rather than true Pilates. I try to make at least some of what we do functional and related to everyday tasks”.
We always have a focus and my aim is to facilitate someone’s own healing process.
Pilates is great for increasing flexibility and joint mobility and reducing pain.
These sessions are run as courses and great for complete beginners, those with injuries, back pain, hip replacement or rehabilitation after surgery.
The focus is on lumbar stabilisation and body awareness. Learn the basics during this course, to help with breathing, core control and alignment, and then progress into the improver session.
Contemporary Pilates has taken the best from Joseph Pilates original concept and along with current research , modified the exercises to fit with how we use our bodies today. The class is run as a course, adaptations to suit injuries are given.
This class is a gentle progression from the complete beginner level and will help to improve posture, balance the soft tissue around the joints for joint health, functional and standing exercises are used that relate to tasks you do at home.
Exercises to improve balance help reduce the risk of falls.
Class spaces are limited so booking is essential.
All Pilates equipment including your Pilates mat is provided.
There is ample free parking available for the duration of your class.
Pilates East Anglia offers classes suited to a range of abilities and our classes are suitable for people with injuries and pain (subject to consultation).
We run Pilates classes in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex which means if you miss a session you can do a catch up session, provided you let your instructor know, so no need to miss out!
